Sealed Bids for the construction of the David Klim Recreation and Learning Center Entrance Improvements, Town of Dewitt will be received by the Town of Dewitt Town Board at the Town of Dewitt Town Hall, 5400 Butternut Drive, East Syracuse, New York, 13057 until 10:00 A.M., Local Time, Friday, July 9, 2019 at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The Project includes the construction of a vestibule and associated entrance improvements to the David Klim Recreation and Learning Center in the Town of Dewitt, Onondaga County, New York.

This project is funded (in part) by a grant from the Onondaga County Community Development Division. Approximately $ 48,000.00 of the project cost will be financed with federal money. Bidders will be required to commit themselves to a goal for minority business participation in the contracts.

The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is Avalon Document Services, 901 North State Street, Syracuse, New York 13208. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents online from the online planroom: www.avalonsyr-planroom.com. The contract specifications and drawings may also be examined free of charge at the Community Development office, Onondaga County Community Development Division, 421 Montgomery Street, Syracuse, NY, 13202, (315) 435-3558.

The Bidding Documents may be obtained only from Avalon Document Services, 901 North State Street, Syracuse, New York 13208, phone number 315-471-3333 (please ask to speak with Aimée Tarin), upon payment of a non-refundable amount of $40.00 per set. Checks shall be made payable to Avalon Document Services. Payment via credit card and charging to an Avalon Account will also be allowed for this bid. Bidding Documents may be picked up at Avalon Document Services, anytime Monday through Friday, when you place an order a pick-up time will be given to you (sets are not preprinted, an order must be placed first) or be delivered via UPS or FedEx upon request to Avalon Document Services. Plans may be shipped to the bidder upon receipt of an additional non-refundable freight charge of $30 payable to Avalon Document Services by separate check or credit card payment. Bidder has the option to provide Avalon Document Services with Bidders UPS or FedEx shipping account number to expedite the delivery of the documents.

Each plan holder of record will be notified by an e-mail regarding each addenda issued for the project. E-mails will be from Avalon Document Services “ReproConnect.” It is the responsibility of each prospective bidder to submit an accurate e-mail address when requesting Bidding Documents. It is the responsibility of each bidder to check the Public Planroom on the www.avalonsyr-planroom.com website to ensure that all addenda have been received and to download each addendum. Large addenda and addenda containing full sized drawings will be sent in hard copy format via a U.S. Mail or a nationally recognized overnight carrier.

The Owner is exempt from the payment of sales and compensating use taxes of the State of New York and of cities and counties on all materials, equipment and supplies sold to the Owner pursuant to this Contract. Also exempt from such taxes are purchases by the Contractor and his Subcontractors of materials, equipment and supplies to be sold to the Owner pursuant to this Contract, including tangible personal property to be incorporated in any structure, building or other real property forming part of the Project. These taxes are not to be included in the Bid.

Each Bid must be accompanied by cash, certified check, cashier’s check or bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders.

Town of Dewitt reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, to re-advertise for new Bids or to waive any informality in connection with any Bid.
