UMU Project No 151095/1214 Titled University Hospital – PRV & 5E Sterilizer Replacement

The project includes mechanical, electrical and general construction work required to support the replacement of two existing steam sterilizers on the 5th floor (by others); and the replacement of two pressure reducing valves, relief valve and appurtenances on the 3rd and 7th floors of University Hospital. The owner shall pre-purchase the pressure reducing valves, relief valve and appurtenances (i.e. isolation valves, strainers and sound attenuators) and shall turn over to the contractor for installation. The contractor shall be responsible for all other material and labor costs. The owner shall contract directly with the controls contractor for all controls removals, materials and installation associated with the PRV stations.

Scope of work:

There is no site visit scheduled for this project
All work on this Contract is to be completed within 30 calendar days, after all final approvals, which may include approvals of the New York State Attorney General and the Office of the State Comptroller.

Bids must be submitted as three (3) complete packages, which must have original signatures on the forms provided by the University, in accordance with the instructions contained in the Information for Bidders. Security will be required for each bid in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the Total Bid.

It is the policy of the State of New York and the State University of New York to encourage minority business enterprise participation in this project by contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and all bidders are expected to cooperate in implementing this policy.

The selected contractor must comply with M/WBE goals. State University of New York goals are: 21.3% MBE and 8.7% WBE participation of the total contract value. State University of New York also has a goal for the Work Force participation: EEO 10% WBE and EEO 10% MBE of total work force on the project.

The State University of New York reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
